October 16, 2008Jug Bogdan is celebrating his second birthday

Stanojković family from the village of Sushica in Strpce, which our organization Serbs for Serbs assists celebrates second birthday of their youngest member, Jug Bogdan, on October 19. In the name of all people of good will around the world who selflessly participate in our people and humanitarian work to help poor serbian families, we want to wish good health to Jug Bogdan, peaceful and happy childhood, as well as the other children of the grateful family Stanojković. We would like to thank father Radovan for the courage to remain in Kosovo with the family in his house even through the hardest time for normal life, with the promise that we will fight for the better life with them. Their gratitude to our organization is the highest award for our further work. This is the reason why our organization, Serbs for Serbs, exists because children are our future.
October 15, 2008Organization helps war veteran

Humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs in cooperation with our friends of the site''Serbian Nationalists'' have given financial assistance to family of war veteran, Petar Milosevic, who lives in the hills above Vishegrad, Republic of Srpska. Our organization will support this action with 5000 dinnars. With this move, we want to turn public attention to the very poor treatment of war veterans, especially in the conditions in which their families are suffering in difficult poverty. The fact that Petar protected the fatherland and the defense of other Serbian families, fell in captivity, and now completely forgotten by the Serbian people, on the social side of society.
October 11, 2008Organization visited family Kostovic in Rashka

Our representative, Milos Tiosavljević, visited family Kostović and prepared a brief report. Village Ljuljac is in the local community of Sharonja that is about 17 kilometres away from Novi Pazar. In the village of Ljuljac lives 10-member family. Dragi and Radovanka Kostović have six beautiful children: Marina 13 years old, Milos 12 years old, Vesna 9 years old, Radica 8 years old, Miljan 17 months old, and the youngest Tanja less than a month old. Dragi Kostović is unemployed as well as his wife Radovanka. They work in the countryside, processing seeds. Marina, Milos, Vesna, and Radica walk each day to school in Sharonja. Village of Ljuljac and local community Sharonja are undeveloped as well as other regions where the majority of population is Serbian. State does not invest in the villages, and therefore some villages are desolate, because young people leave the city.In Kostović's house also live Dragi's parents

List of things that are necessary family Kostović are:
-Jacket, boots and shoes for Marina
-Milos needs jacket, boots and pants.
-Vesna and Radica require pants and boots.
-Milan needs boots and blankets.
-Youngest Tanja needs comforter and bed.

October 10, 2008Jovana's letter to our organization

Dear friends, I am Jovana Radovanovic from Kosovo. I live in an enclave which is called Orahovac. I am 11 years old. This way I want to thank this site, as well as organization and I'm happy with the fact that there is still good people to help their brothers and sisters in weakness. I read your site very often and track your activities. One good woman from Canada, called Radmila Micic, has visited us last summer. She brought and shared with children financial assistance. We greeted her with songs in our church. Radmila was very happy when she saw a lot of children in the yard. She came up to me, she shook hands with me and then she came to my younger sister and asked her what would she ( my sister ) like from her to bring her next time she visits. My sister has told that she would like freedom. Radmila stopped and watched, being suprised to receive a response like that. Her view froze and her thoughts were flying.

Radmila hugged my sister and asked her for the name, and her eyes were full of tears, even though she tried hiding her view from us because she did not wanted us to see her crying. She was a guest in Orahovac and I would like to use this chance to say hi to her, as well as all the people who help us and think about us while we keep our holy land Kosovo. We do not store the weapons, but faith, hope and love. Radmila saw where we live, and in what conditions of life. Orahovac is one enclave of some 300 to 400 meters of free territory. It is located in the south of Kosovo. Life is difficult, but we live with God's help. They have posted barbed-wire fence, but it does not save us. Lord is with us and He leads us with the hand of God. When you need something to buy or to go to the doctor, convoys travel for two or more hours unaccompanied. This is how we travel in recent years, and for all we need, we go to Kosovska Mitrovica.

The most difficult thing is that we do not have electricity and water. In the 24 hours, we have a few hours of electricity, and water. We are three sisters, and all three go to school. I am the oldest and I am 11 years old. The second one is Angela and she is 10 years old and the youngest one is Coka. She is in grade 1. When we return from school, it is already dark, so we have to write our homework with a candle. When we finish homework, as the oldest sister, I'm always the one that makes a new game or story so the time can quickly pass by. Our youngest sister was born at home because there was no doctor since there was war at that time and there was no hospital so sister was born in the house. I'd like to have more sisters, and with God's help brother as well. I'd like to meet a lot of friends to hang out with them and they can come with me to Kosovo.

I don't know what else to say. There is nothing special going on here that I could write about due to the fact that there is so little space where we live while there is a lot of space in Orahovac but I can only see it from far away and most of the people that live there now are albanians while we, serbs, live in a very little part of the city that's surrounded by the barb-wired fence. Albanians enter our territory sometimes and tease us which is the reason why I do not go out as often as I would want to. I usually go to our church which is where we are the safest. I am in a hurry to finish this letter before the electricity goes off. I'd like to say hi to everybody and I would like to thank you for everything you guys are doing for us. Also, I would like to thank everybody for reading this letter and hopefully with this letter, I have brought our life here in Kosovo through my words to you.
With God's help,
Your Jovana Kosovka
Bye

Family Ratkovic suprised by their godfather Marinko
Family Ratkovic from Banja Luka, Repulic of Srpska, which was planned in our October donation, is not abandoned or alone anymore. Businessman, Marinko Umicevic, has taken care of nine children and made sure that they feel human attention by bringing them mount of candy and promising to be a godfather for the youngest child, Marija. For the first time children were eating candy as much as possible.

A story about the humanitarian organization Serbs for the Serbs is spreading as the youthful love.People read, monitor, their hearts pound faster, some tears drop as well, from the soul of Serbian brothers and sisters. One by one, more and more families are coming out from the lack of human care and the little attention and help get other conditions of life worth a living.
Zlatko Ratković, father children, thanked Umićević on donations and assistance that he has provided to them that day.
To have nine children in the house makes me rich no matter what - said Zlatko
- One salary is not enough to pay all the needs. My wife, Marijana, and I are recovering somehow, and help from good people will always be welcomed - said Zlatko.
Six out of nine children from family Ratković go to school. All are excellent students.
October's focus=Krajina
The main focus of actions of our organization in October is Krajina, and Banja Luka with its surroundings. We planned our visit during this month to the four multiple member families with 30 children in total, and provide them directly with purchased food, or financial assistance in the amount of 300 euros. Family Petkovic from Lazareva and Ilic from Manjache, both families are without a father, will receive regular assistance for the purchase of food, Ratkovic from Šibova will receive one-time help, and family Torbica from the village of Potkozarje, refugees from Croatia, will receive the first visit and the first donation for the purchase of cattle.
