From Cincinnati, Ohio to children from Kosovo.

On Saturday, February 7th, local Serbian community, in cooperation with Serbian Orthodox Church " St. George " has organized charity dinner named " For our children from Kosovo ". One part of collected donations will be donated to our charity organization who will go back to Kosovo by the end of March or beginning of April.

''It was a cheerful, interesting and much different event from all previous parties in our church. Reason behind the event and the party were different. Duo Anna and Milovan Beljin were playing for us for free.

Many volunteers was included in the entire organization of the event beginning of the sale of tickets, sound to food and cakes which were donated by our parish. Hall was given by the Serbian Orthodox Church, and also we did not pay renting. The church also gave donations collected during lunch the next day as well as payment for stamps for sending invitations. Everyone helped as much as possible. Anna and Milovan have entertained us for about two hours and we continued with party after. All in all, it was eventful and we had a great turnout. In addition, many people who were not able to attend the event sent a check to the church with a note for the children of Kosovo.

We have collected about 2,000 dollars and in agreement with our church, 1000 will be paid to charity organization Serbs for Serbs and 1,000 dollars will be given to Foundation for children of Kosovo and Metohija-metropolis Novogračaničke. This was our first attempt and successful for us. We hope that we will succeed in the future to make a similar event.

I wanted to note, that from all the names, and there were many, I would like to mention Mirko Sebez, who was of enormous help with the whole organization to my husband and I.

Fundraising dinner in Cincinnati

A fundraising event organized by www.CincinnatiSerbs.com in collaboration with the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Cincinnati, OH. Your support will directly benefit Serbian children from the region of Kosovo and Metohija. Funds raised will be donated to two humanitarian organizations: Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, and Mitropolija Novogacanicka from Chicago. The proof of contribution will be published in the Parohijski Glasnik – a monthly newsletter for the Cincinnati’s Serbian Orhodox community.
